OUR MISSION
The Adopt An Addict Foundation is dedicated to helping individuals in Aruba who are struggling with addiction-related issues. Our mission is to find appropriate rehabilitation programs, provide support, and spread awareness about addiction as a disease that requires treatment. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance and a life free from addiction.
Our Story
Since our founding on June 2, 2008, the Adopt an Addict Foundation has been dedicated to supporting individuals in Aruba on their courageous journey towards recovery from addiction. We started to work as the Association of Mainstreet Merchants (MAMBO) as a response to the challenges and problems posed by ambulant addicts on the streets. Over the years, we've grown and founded Stichting Adopt An Addict, evolving our vision to not only locate and send addicts to rehabilitation centers but to provide comprehensive support, family guidance, and community reintegration.
In 2010, we marked a significant milestone with the opening of 'Cas Speransa' in Aruba, our reintegration center where individuals can stay once they have successfully completed a rehabilitation center. This vital facility provides a safe, structured environment for individuals to regain their independence and become productive members of the community.
Our journey has been made possible through many collaborations including our partnership with Hogar Crea in the Dominican Republic, where many of our beneficiaries have found the strength to rehabilitate and return to Aruba.
Today, our history is a testament to the power of compassion, community, and the unwavering belief in the potential for every individual to find healing and a brighter future.
